Daily Advent Reading

This is our Digital Advent Calendar for 2023. We would hope you could join in daily during the season of Advent. Every day’s Advent Gift box will have a new Scripture to read and reflect on. Every Thursday there will be a Children’s Ministry Activity for you and your children. Every Tuesday there will be a question for adults to enjoy and engage on our Facebook page.

Advent Question of the Week

Do you have any family photos of Christmases past? Once again, we would love to see your funny, quirky, or nostalgic photos. Actually, old or new will do, as long as we see how amazing (and possibly weird) you are. You can post as many as you like.

Find our Tuesday Advent post on Facebook and share your family photos. And if you’re lucky, you may see it in worship on Sunday morning.

John 14:1-6

1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.

2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Jesus the Way to the Father

5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Devotional

Often, we speak of the birth of Jesus as receiving a gift for living our lives. The deeper truth is even more than that. Jesus isn’t a gift for life. Jesus is life: In Him, we discover our reason for living. He offers us life with an “untroubled” heart. What better thing to be reminded of during the season of Advent.

Friends, Jesus is the life.

The road, the reality, the reason.

Jesus does not give us all we need. Jesus is all we need.

Thank you, Jesus, for being the way, the truth and the life!
