How the Program Works

A person in need (a "care receiver") is paired with a trained layperson (a "Stephen Minister"). They typically meet weekly to talk, pray, and work through their struggles together.

One-to-One Care

Strict Confidentiality

The identity of the care receiver is kept entirely private, known only to their minister and the church's referral coordinator.

Stephen Ministers complete over 50 hours of training. The curriculum focuses on active listening, empathy, healthy boundaries, and providing a non-judgmental presence rather than trying to "fix" the problem.
