Summer Camp Volunteers
First Methodist Church of Oviedo's First UP Children's Ministry camps 2024!
OURM Foot Washing & Shoe Drive
Once again, our church is helping to provide the Orlando Union Rescue Mission with 1,000 pair of new athletic shoes for men, women and children (all sizes). Please bring in a new pair of sneakers (you can include socks, too) to the church by March 28.

On Good Friday (March 29), we will help with OURM's Banquet and Foot Washing event. Volunteers please arrive at First Methodist Church at 8:15 AM to ensure we arrive at OURM on time!
Maundy Thursday Seder Meal
First Methodist Oviedo and other churches in the area will be hosting a Seder Meal on Thursday, March 28 from 6 to 8pm. Hagerty Culinary will be catering this event, it will be a family styled dinner. Join us and experience an authentic Jewish Passover Seder.
The cost will be $10 per person (11 and older), and $5 per person (4 to 10 yrs old).
Registration will be open until Monday, March 25.
Children's Ministries Easter Egg Hunt
Join us for pizza, bounce houses, crafts, and age appropriate egg hunts for children up to 5th grade.

Palm Sunday Children's Choir
The children’s choir will be singing at the 9:30 Contemporary Service. Children will process in with palms, then sing.
Children will have the chance to practice song with Ms. Kalee & Ms. Anne during Wednesday Night Programming and both Sunday School Hours.
Community Youth Worship Night
Our youth group is having a special worship night for students in the Oviedo area on Sunday, March 17th at 6 PM. We would love if you and your churches youth group would join us for this amazing event. Experience the warmth of community, hear uplifting worship music, and find encouragement in the company of fellow believers. Join us at First Methodist Church of Oviedo at 6 PM. We can’t wait to worship together!

Community Barbecue
Join us for time with fellow christians! This event is happening March 16 at Noon at the Grant Chapel AME Church.
2nd Annual Community Unity Worship Service
2nd Annual Community Unity Worship Service on Sunday, February 25th at 3:00 pm at Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church. Join community pastors (including our own Pastor Brian) and area churches in worshipping God together.
Ash Wednesday Service
Ash Wednesday Service will be February 14th at 6:30 PM in the Main Sanctuary. The Children will have their normal programming, with ashes that have been blessed and a focus on Ash Wednesday. There will not be Youth Bible Study.
First Church Super Bowl Tailgate
Come join us in the Fellowship Hall for a pre-game Super Bowl Tailgate party. Hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks and snacks will be provided. There will be tailgate type activities for everyone to play.
No Saturday Evening Service
Since both of our Pastors will be in Clermont for the Conference, there will be no Saturday evening service on January 20th.
Family Movie Night
Bring the family to our movie night. We will be showing “American Underdog - The Kurt Warner Story”. Hot dogs, drinks and snacks will be provided by the Methodist Men

Please arrive early to get a good seat, as the sanctuary will be filled to capacity.
Family Christmas Eve Service
Please join us as we celebrate our Savior's birth on Christmas Eve with a magical and spirit filled service.
Our 5pm Service is a family service led by the pastors and children’s ministry staff. There will be traditional Christmas scripture readings and music, a Christmas message from the pastor. Please arrive early to get a good seat, as the sanctuary will be filled to capacity.
We hope you can attend and celebrate Christmas with us!
CHRISTMAS EVE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are looking for Ushers, Greeters and Parking Lot Attendants for both services on Christmas Eve. If you would like to spread extra joy by handing out candles or bulletins to guests coming to our services, or assist with directing parking.

Gingerbread Family Night 2023
Everyone is invited to a Gingerbread Family Night on Friday, December 22! Fun for the whole family! The fun begin at 5:30 PM with a children's program, decorating gingerbread cookies, games and more!
Christmas Cantata & Orchestral Concert
First Church Oviedo is putting together an amazing Christmas cantata and orchestral program on Sunday, December 17 at 5 PM, called “Night of Miracles.”
We’re recruiting all of our skilled musical community to join and contribute their talents to this amazing concert. So if that’s you or some of your friends and family, have them reach out to our Director of Traditional Worship, Assel Jean-Pierre.

Wreaths Across America
This nation-wide event returns to our Oviedo Cemetery on Saturday, December 16th. Please join us for this moving ceremony placing wreaths on the gravesites of military veterans.
Breakfast with Santa
Join Santa for Oviedo’s famous townhouse pancakes, crafts, and story time!
Tickets are $8 person - includes a delicious breakfast, candy canes, live music, crafts, story time, and a picture with Santa! All proceeds go to missions for women and children.

Decorate the Church
Please join us on Sunday, November 26, as we decorate our beautiful church facilities for the holidays. We are breaking the festivities into “shifts” following each worship service. The first shift will be at 9:00 AM, where we will meet in Fellowship Hall for coffee and donuts. The next shift will be at 10:30 AM, and we will finish things up at Noon, following the 11 AM service. There will be many opportunities to serve regardless of your age or physical capability. Let’s celebrate Jesus!
Great Day in the Country Parking Fundraiser
Each year the church provides parking for the annual Great Day in the Country event as a special fundraiser. We are in need of lots of volunteers to help direct traffic and/or collect donations for parking. We will have the following shifts: 7-9AM (8-10 people), 9-10:30AM (6-8 people); 10:30-Noon (4-6 people); Noon-2PM (2-4 people). Please contact Melody Boyington or the church office if you can lend a hand.
Veteran’s Day Luncheon
The Military Support Team’s annual Veterans Day Luncheon will be on Friday, November 10, at Noon in the Fellowship Hall. This is a community event so please invite your Veteran friends and neighbors. The meal will be catered by Mission BBQ.
Please let us know that you are coming and how many will be in your party by calling the Church office.
Homecoming Sunday
Come celebrate 150 years at First Church Oviedo! We will have one combined service at 10 AM, followed by a potluck dinner on the grounds. Please bring a favorite dish to share!

Baptism Sunday
On Pentecost Sunday (May 28), we will be celebrating baptisms and renewal of baptisms during our worship services. If you would like to participate in this special ceremony by immersion or sprinkling, please contact the church office to set up an appointment with one of the pastors.
Spring Concert: A Family Celebration
Join us on Sunday, May 21 at 5 PM for an afternoon of beautiful music featuring Pastor Patina, Shawna Herrington, Assel Jean-Pierre, and other guest musicians. The music will be a blend of original songs and classic favorites.

Blue Christmas Service
The Christmas holidays are not always bright and cheery for everyone. Especially for those who have experienced the death of a loved one, a divorce or separation, cancer or illness, the loss of a job, or other situations that may create sadness or loneliness. Come to our Blue Christmas Service that will be held on December 18 at 7 PM in the Historic Sanctuary, and celebrate the real promise of the season and be uplifted by the Light of Christ. We will have music, scripture, readings, and the assurance of God's grace.
